Michelin Bibendum Forecourt Trolly Compressor c 1930s
Monterey Jet Center 2024
An extremely rare Michelin collectable from the 1930s well-restored to working condition.
The portable forecourt trolley compressor features Michelin's world-famous Bibendum mascot astride the electric-powered pump mounted on two wheels. The restorative work includes newly screen printed metal plates featuring Inflation Tables, Lubrication Instructions, Operation Instructions, an overhauled and functional electric motor and air compressor operating on 240V, while both the electric motor and power cable have been rewired with the correct cotton woven casing. Naturally the exit air supply hose humorously exits from 'Bibendum's mouth!
The cast iron wheels, compressor, electric motor, frame and rubber tires are noted to be original.
