Mika Häkkinen is the most successful Finnish racing driver of all time, having won back to back world championships in the 1998 and 1999 seasons. From a country that is known for huge rally car racing talent Mika was able to win twenty races, all of which were after a serious accident in 1995 in which Mika was lucky to survive. Many drivers have struggled to regain form following such circumstances, but such was Mika's determination and speed he was named by Michael Schumacher as his most formidable opponent. Nine of his eleven seasons in Formula One were with McLaren, he started his career with two seasons at Lotus.

This Bell Fuelling 2 helmet was painted by Bell Helmets, and is clearly signed by Mika on the visor with his text 'The Flying Finn'. The helmet bears the number 2001-17 on the rear. The helmet shows good sign of use and has a rare top vent fitted to the helmet which was designed to force air into the helmet during hotter race weekends. The helmet also has some additional pink padding beside the cheek pads, which was common for Mika when he used this model of helmet.
