Sergio Perez waited 190 Grands Prix to win his first race in Formula One. Starting at Sauber for his third season in Formula One he raced for McLaren but left after just one season. Eight seasons followed with Force India / Racing Point. Without a drive for the 2021 season, Perez joined Red Bull outside of their usual choice of drivers, he has since won six Grands Prix for the team and assisted them to two Constructors' Championships since he joined.

This early career Bell HP3 helmet from Sergio is painted by Bell Helmets, and bears the number 2012/01 to the rear. Showing good signs of use this helmet is an early example of a helmet with a more colourful helmet interior.
